Wire-speed Performance
The DSS-16+ features a non-blocking wire-speed architecture, with a 3.2Gbps switching capacity, for maximum data throughput. The DSS-16+ also features an integrated universal power supply, and per port diagnostics LEDs that make it easy to "spot check" for problems. With wire-speed filltering and Store-and-Forward switching, the DSS-16+ maximizes network performance while minimizing the propagation of bad network packets.

Quality of Service
The DSS-16+ supports 802.1p Quality of Service (QoS). QoS assists in the prompt delivery of time sensitive data such as voice, video, and gaming traffic. When frames enter the switch with 802.1p priority tags, they are automatically placed in one of two built-in hardware queues. Frames with higher priority tags are then passed through the switch more efficiently, helping eliminate jitter and lag in VoIP and multimedia traffic.
